About Tanzania

Tanzania is undoubtedly a fantastic introduction to Africa and its safari experiences. As the largest country in East Africa, nearly a third of its expansive land is designated for game viewing, making safari opportunities both endless and exhilarating. While game drives are a major highlight, Tanzania offers much more: trekking for chimpanzees in Mahale, walking and fly camping in Tarangire, boating in Selous, and relaxing on the stunning Indian Ocean coastline. No safari in Tanzania would be complete without witnessing the Great Migration in the Serengeti, one of nature's most extraordinary wildlife spectacles.

Tanzania Wildlife

Tanzania is renowned for the wildebeest migration, the largest mass movement of land animals on Earth. This incredible journey sustains the Serengeti ecosystem, where predators like lions, hyenas, and birds of prey prey on the vulnerable, while crocodiles lie in ambush at river crossings. The plains are teeming with giraffes, gazelles, and other wildlife. Ngorongoro Crater, often described as a wildlife Eden, features zebras grazing on its rim and is home to lions, flamingos, and the endangered black rhinoceros. Tarangire National Park is famous for its massive elephant herds, while the remote Selous Game Reserve, with its population of 3,000 lions, cheetahs, hippos, black rhinos, and some of Africa’s last wild dogs, is a treasure trove of wildlife. Ruaha National Park, vast and rich in biodiversity, supports buffalo, sable, roan antelope, elephants, and an array of bird species. In the rainforests of Mahale and Gombe in western Tanzania, chimpanzees and colobus monkeys thrive in their natural habitat..
