Ascend to the Barranco Camp, navigating the famous Barranco Wall. The climb is steep but manageable, with rewarding views of the surrounding valleys and giant senecios. Enjoy lunch at camp and take some time to rest before dinner.
Day 5: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp (4,035 m)
Start the day with a short trek along the Karanga Valley. This day is slightly shorter to help with acclimatization. Arrive at Karanga Camp, rest, and enjoy the beautiful views of Kibo’s glaciers as you prepare for the next stage of the climb.
Day 6: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp (4,640 m)
Continue ascending through the alpine desert toward Barafu Camp, the base for your summit attempt. The terrain is rocky and barren, with incredible panoramic views. Spend the afternoon resting, organizing your gear, and preparing for the midnight summit climb.
